Paper Route
For a month and a half- of course the hottest days of the summer 100 plus degrees hot, Sai did a paper route. It started at 3:00 in the afternoon M-Sat. I have to say that it was a little stressful at first, and then calmed down as the rhythm got easier and faster. It was a larger route, so we all became involved. We would drive to the pick-up location and roll-up all of the 58 papers in our air conditioned car. Then we would deliver to a few houses with Sai and Taima taking turns at each house. Next we would drop off Sai and let him ride his bike to 17 houses and Taima and I would deliver the remaining from the car. One of the things we all enjoyed was the nice people at the nursing home that we delivered to that gave each of us an ice cream cone almost every day.
It kept us occupied for a while, but with school coming up and a myriad of other activities, we let the paper route go. The boys were a little sad- but I was actually relieved to have some relaxation. Maybe next summer or a much smaller route near our house where the boys can ride their bikes.
