4th of July

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. We began our celebration with a Town 4th of July parade on Saturday (July 3). The fun part was, anyone could join in. We decorated Sai and Taima's scooters, and Matai's stroller with red, white, and blue ribbons. It was a short walk from the post office to the park- about a 1/4 of a mile, the boys loved it. When we arrived at the park we were served ice cream and pie from the local McDonald's. Thank you McDonald's. We also met up with some friends from our neighborhood. This is one of my good friends Brooke. I loved her hat and sun glasses- very festive!

On Sunday (July 4), we went to church, and later Bar-B-Q'ed at home. That night we drove around town trying to find fireworks. We had heard that there were some fireworks on a certain street, but when we actually found the spot- we noticed that it was a big festival of some sorts. There were tons of vendors and lots of people and loud music. Paki and I looked at each other and said, NO. Being that the fourth landed on a Sunday, we still wanted to see fireworks, just not be around loud activities. So we all got back in the car and drove down the street to this open field (where our new church building will be built soon). At this field, we were able to capture a 360 view of fireworks from people doing their own fireworks in their own backyards. It was beautiful sight- it was like capturing the Boston fireworks- but in every direction. And the best part was that we also found our Bishop and his wife and grand kids their too. We knew we were in the right spot. We will go there again next year for fireworks.

I love all the pictures! The boys are growing up so fast. That's fun that you were all able to be involved in the parade!
